The power of written words

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Have you ever thought about what you wrote in your MSN, Friendster, my space? i remembered when i was a bit younger, i was playing a lot of IRC where it was quite interactive but it does not really record down what was written but now we have all the platforms available for us to pen down our thoughts and tell ppl how we feel.

You know, what we write can realy impact people around us whether it is postive or negative. we have to ask ourselves constatnly what words are we writing. Many times, we write to show our agnst in another way. It like an outlet for us to frustrate out hoping that someone out there can understand us and encourage us. We all want to be heard in one way or another isn’t it?

Well, there is another ‘blog’ that is so powerful that you got to try it. Long time ago, God has already commissioned Godly people to blog down his heart and his will for his people! Then you will say but Pastor Gary, it is just words!!!!! You are right! One look at it, it just another bible in the bookshelf but one thing that is powerful about the bible is this. if you take time to read, take time to think through, take time to ask God what this verse means. God will speak to you in most personal way you never experienced before.

Words are important to God. His words in the bible is to empower us to live strong and defeat the enemy when they try to pull us down. So do you read the bible daily? Do you really try to understand the word? What’s your attitude on this? Ok.. tell you what… if you have not been reading. I would like to encourage you to read daily. Take 15mins. Read one chapter a day, pray about it, jorunal it down so that you can reflect upon it. if you do it for at least one month, i promise you that something within you will change. You will love and experience God like never before. Dare to try? Well for those who are consistent in their tawg then make every effort to try to memorize one verse per week!

Mighty Warriors, it time to jump into the word!

A crowd lover or a God lover

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Hi yo folks!!! it’s me again sharing some thoughts with you.. as usual… this blog is super random compared to the ones i write in the ignyte web where it is hmmmm more proper!!! LOL.. Anyway recently i was just thinking through hmm what to be? A crowd lover or a God lover? You see, a crowd lover is one who just do certain things or say certain certain things to please people, make people like them or love them and a God lover is one who really seeks to please God.. duh right?

Anyway, of course everyone want to be a God lover but sometimes it is easier to be a crowd lover. hahaha. i mean don’t we want affirmation, recongnition from people all the time? hahahaha. well. i want to share with you some things here. Being a crowd lover will certainly make your life easier, they will like being with you, love you and adore you but when storms come, they will disappear, the crowds will not stand together with you. But a God lover is one who will endure doing the work of God even sometimes people will not like your style of leadership or the way certain things being said or done. I remembered when i was praying for Adam youths, i asked God what is it that a generation will be strong and enduring in their faith, a kind of people no matter what circumstances will hold strong. And the answer was mighty warrior spirit…So i asked God how to then? His answer was to create a culture of strong discipleship.

As i ponder over this, the Lord reminded me of many things as youth how i have grown and even people around me. Sometimes being a GOd lover means we have to go through strict discipleship. Why? Well, it strengthens why we believe and what we believe. if we look into life of Jesus, many times he would correct their beliefs, some in the form of rebuking, some of the form gentleness. But actually, if you really think about it, Jesus spoke quite frankly about Kingdom living and not shun away or try to package for the disciples to receive the truth better. Sometimes hard truths are hard to take but then it goes a long way in bringing them to their destiny.

The bible says, no discipline is pleasant however it will reap a harvest of righteousness. Well, that was my answer to a strong youth ministry. it’s no point been a crowd lover and the ignyte ministry grow big time, tolerating sins, behaviors that displeases God but rather be a God lover, disciple a generation that will last a lifetime. Of course there is no perfect style or manual book that says the PERFECT way to lead a youth ministry.  Being a youth pastor is never easy, amen??? ‘ya.amen to myself’ lol. but i thanked God that this year i have seen many lives turned around..some 180 degree to the postives. As i said earlier, it is a shake up… a shake up will often cause people to feel uncomfortable..tell you what.. remember i said, a crowd lover will have people around them but when challenge come they will disappear? Well a God lover will have people stand together, firmly rooted even when the biggest wave comes. why? because they know they are following their God who is mighty to save. So what say you, a crowd lover or God lover? =pp

totally cool!!!!

Yoz to all ppl out there! This week has been so exciting la!!!! yup you guess it right, the combined evangelistic event, Played Out, Reality Bites!!! Ouch! hahahahaa anyway i think it was totally cool… just look at the responses that day..so many people gave their lives to Jesus! It was really awesome when you see both centres coming together giving their all to see Jesus being glorified.

There were so many obstacles but yet through God, there is nothing we can’t achieve. I saw SPs, non-Sps busily sharing the gospel to their friends..hey to all out there who brought friends but HAVE NOT GOT saved, no worries, it will come soon! You know as i was just thinking, i am amazed at the faith level of the youths.. i think there is a sense of ownership building. Who cares which centres you are from, most important is people get saved!!! hahaha.. but i truly believe the prayer chain was really the spark and the heart of all these. I mean since when we reallly pray so hard to believe for souls to get saved???? But this event is only the tip of the iceberg.

i believe for new believers to come, i believe the backsliden will be redeemed for the glory of God! IGNYTE Ministry, March Forward for the Kingdom of God is here, AMEN? Love you all!
